the baby. i said you cannot. i try so hard but he managed to take the baby. i feel like he is not okay. like he is old-cold and hungry. >> reporter: authorities continued searching the patterson canal after a form working said he noticed a car, authorities believe he was driving tuesday when he abducted juliani cardenas from his grandmother's home. on thursday a lexus was pulled from the water. not the corolla. investigators plan to search a different section of the patterson canal. >> the location goes into pipe underground, 200 feet underground and comes up on the south side of the bridge. that's where our divers were unable to get to because of

with all my heart, okay? please come home. >> you can watch the interview in its entirety by logging on to >> we are learning more about his criminal past. as kron 4's terisa reports, he has an extensive record, including being wanted for domestic violence. >> reporter: records show jose esteban rodriguez has been in trouble with the law for more than a decade. most recently in 2009 he had two dui convictions. 2008 an arrest warrant was issued in connection with a domestic violence case. he failed to show up and has been a wanted man ever since. they do not know why he was not sent back to santa clara when

he was arrested. then in 2007 he pled guilty to a dui, he had three years of probation. in 2002, he was caught having sex with a minor. he received a year in jail. in addition, when he was 15 he was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. records show he was offered a sentence in juvenile haul for that crime but failed to make an appearance. records up tained show he violated the terms of his patrol four separate times. kron 4 news. >> stay with us for continuing coverage of the search for juliani cardenas and be sure to go to anytime for
